Productivity tips help you hack your brain, and tame it for a better life. This may sound weird, but some people truly hate productivity tips. Now, the question is who are these people who hate productivity tips and why?

Well, those who believe that they already know enough tips of productivity, which seem to work well for people they know, but never came across any tip that worked for them are those who hate productivity tips. They think that they know what to do, but they just voluntarily choose not to do it. While, these people are well informed on the subject, but still find it quite hard to maintain focus. They think that productivity tips are unproductive for them. These people are often pro-procrastinators.

Procrastinating mindset can trap a person into a loop of bad-habit for a lifetime and has the tendency to make that person as unproductive as humanly possible.

There are plenty of brain-taming ways. If one tip didn’t work for you, it doesn’t mean that nothing would work. You just need to find better ways to domesticate your brain.

Procrastination often comes into play when you try to avoid bad feeling, like the stress or unpleasantness. Mood regulation plays its part in the process of accepting these feelings of stress and recognizes that these feelings are not going to disappear on their own.

Everyone procrastinates, sometime or the other, but the degree of your unproductiveness depends on how frequently you choose to follow the runt. More often than not, when you’ve to perform a certain task without a deadline, you’re likely to fall into the pit of procrastination. So, be aware of this issue as it can also be a symptom of underlying mental disorder such as Attention deficit disorder (ADD) or depression.

The Imposter: An Imposter procrastinator will avoid doing any thing to avoid failure. They often end up in depression if not given proper guidance.

The Dread-Filled: A Dread-Filled procrastinator hates to get bored. So, no matter how important, if work is boring he’s likely to procrastinate. A lot of people will be able to relate to this type of procrastination because it’s not easy to put your mind into something you don’t find interesting.

The overwhelmed: When there is so much work that you can’t decide where to start from, eventually you end up doing nothing at all. When you’re stuck with more work than you think you’re capable of doing you start to procrastinate.

The pushed-ones: They will not bother themselves with work unless they have no other option. These people believe that they have an ability to work well under pressure.

Productivity tips for Procrastinators

Strengths: To find out what productivity hacks will work for you, you’ll have to find your strengths first. People tend to procrastinate activities which doesn’t fall into their strengths zone. Therefore, be more thoughtful of yourself and follow a routine. Try to recall the challenges you came across in past, and then recall how you dealt with those challenges. Our brain is a machine that solves problems for us, and you shouldn’t doubt its capabilities. If, however, one way didn’t work for you, try to understand the problem at a deeper level and make another decision.

Understand how willpower works: Being more aware of such things will give you more control over the situation. Willpower is like a muscle. Willpower gets tired when used perpetually. Even while making decisions you use your willpower, when it’s fatigued you give in, and start procrastinating. Once you understand the nature of willpower, you’ll start to use it more cautiously. So, as a result of this practice, your willpower level won’t be drained so soon, and you’ll be making much better choices throughout the day.

Accept your failure: Fear of failure is one of the major reasons for procrastination. To avoid it you need to learn to accept your failure, and seek the reason why you failed. Even if you fail, you should do it again with a better approach. Acceptance is a very powerful action. Never drag regrets with you. Understand why you failed, accept your failure, and then let it go. Acceptance of failure is the mother of success.

You have to understand that failure isn’t permanent in nature. It’s more like a once-in-a-while visitor. If you fail to do something, research to seek out better ways of doing that thing.
